Well, it seems impossible, but the show is now over. We had a great day zipping around the convention hall from booth to booth, trying to order from old favorites while also searching for new companies to order from. The big buzz for the show was a new company called Flower Soft. We had some customers ask if we carried it before the show and we had heard a little bit about it. We ordered some amazing Christmas and everyday card sets along with a large amount of the actual Flower Soft. This stuff is so cool and will be so fun to work with. It kind of reminds me of puff paints, but all you do is glue the Flower Soft on and you are done. Another similar product we found was called MuddPuddles. It comes in a jar with the glue already mixed into it, so you simply put it onto your project and let it dry. There is an awesome sand that will work great for beach, sandcastle, and sandbox layouts and cards. There is also a neat green that looks so much like a golf green after it dries. Both of these new products are acid-free and safe to use in your scrapbooks. We also ordered from another popular new company, Nikki Sivils. She had some cute themed papers. Bella Blvd. was another new find, and we grabbed some cute mini stamp sets, great boy and girl and camping paper from them. Although, not a totally new company, Pink Paislee is new to us. We will carry some of their Halloween, Christmas, Fall and Valentines collections. We orderd the entire collection of the hot new "Smooch" paints from Clear Snaps. These paints come in little bottles similar to nail polish and have a small applicator tip for detail painting - very cool and acid-free.
Our first stop for the day was at American Crafts. We spent over an hour there ordering from their new lines of paper, ribbons, stamps, and embellishments. We also purchased most of their new faux-leather 12x12 albums and their entire collection of new stamp markers. The stamp markers allow you to color your stamps directly onto the stamp itself and then stamp the image in several different colors all at once. We ordered some new acrylic and chipboard albums and minis from Clear Scraps, including a camera album. Doodlebug, as always was one of the cutest booths. Their booth is just darling usually decorated as a candy shop, cafe, or ice cream shop. We ordered nearly all of their new page topper stickers and rub-on sayings to match, and all of the papers and stickers and multi-brad packs for their new Halloween and Christmas lines. Oddly enough, their Halloween line has pink in it. Sounds weird, I know, but it is incredibly cute and totally Doodlebug. They also offered some white wood organizational items. We found them to be a bit pricey, however, so we only ordered in the 9-drawer unit. Of course, we can special order in the other items if anyone is interested.
We could hardly wait to get to one of our favorite manufacturer's booths, Little Yellow Bicycle. We weren't disappointed with their new selections, ordering the entire Valentine's collection, as well as most of the others. Jenni Bowlin had some cute new things also, including new chipboard buttons, journaling tags, bingo cards and letter stickers. Paper Wizard had some amazing new laser embellishments. Their individual states were finally finished and we ordered one of each. Provo Craft has a new instrument called the Gypsy that is kind of like a hand-held computer that will allow you to design directly on it and then plug it into your Cricut later to cut. We will probably only do special requests with it since it is another high ticket item. QuicKutz has a great collection of holiday dies that we will be getting in soon and has a new letter press tool that is awesome. We have not decided for sure if we will carry it, though, as it requires that we purchase the entire package; which is quite pricey, as you might guess. Let us know what you think about it.
There are many more companies that we will be ordering from in the next few weeks that were not at the show, but for now, all of this should keep us well-stocked. Shipments should start arriving as early next week, and like I said before, the new My Mind's Eye will be in the store either tomorrow or Monday. Laura has been busy uploading pictures again from today, so head back over to our Memories on Fifth facebook page to view product, booth, and sample photos.
After today, we really have to make more room. So once again, our sale for Friday, July 31, 2009, will be 25% off of merchandise from all manufacturers highlighted above (excludes Epic, Silhouette and Cricut since they are already value priced). This time, we will run this sale through the weekend, so these discounts will be good until Sunday, August 2, 2009. |

Day two and we are already tired, but excited at all we are seeing. We began the day with Prima. We will be bringing some additional stitched papers and lots of new flowers and embellishments into the store including more of the little critters everyone loved. Our next stop was 3 Bugs in a Rug, who had an adorable boy line that we had to purchase all of! We also picked up selections from their other new lines. One of our very favorite companies, Best Creations, took no time at all to order from. Once again, we pretty much chose all of their amazing glittery papers! Another one of our absolute favorites, Graphics 45, continued to amaze us and we had to have most of it, as well. We took lots of pictures of their booth and samples, since they won best of show for their booth last CHA and probably will again this time, and I wanted you to be able to experience some of their out-of-this-world creativity. We purchased several pieces from the new Karen Foster, Paperhouse, SRM, and Cosmo Cricket lines.
If you like our clear pail buckets from Stampendous, you are going to love their two new sizes! They are so cute! We were so sure that you were going to love them as much as we did that we bought cases of all of the sizes, as well as, new class-a-peels and clear stamps. For those of you that are fans of the awesome Coredinations papers, we have some big news for you. We have decided to carry their entire collection! It should be arriving in the next few weeks and will be located on the other side of our Bazzill cardstock. We also picked up their Jenny Bowlin Coredinations pad, which is just beautiful. Don't worry, though, we added some new colors of Bazzill to our collection and will now carry several of their stitching templates and all of their new bling! Watch for their fun Halloween and Christmas On-The-Edge Borders to arrived at the store as they are limited editions and you won't want to miss out on them. Petaloo dazzled us with some of the cutest glitter embellishments that we've seen, their Dazzlers, We had to have them all, along with some of their new flower packs.
Sandylion had new Disney, Toy Story, Winnie the Pooh, and other licensed products, along with lots of 3-D stickers that we couldn't resist. We can't remember if we've carried Melissa Francis before, but we've admired her work for a long time. We took the plunge to add yet another manufacturer and were delighted with her little houses, tinsel, acid-free crepe paper, mini albums, variety of embellishments and awesome Bingo cards.
We were astonished with the multitude of new products from Me and My Big Ideas! Based on the past two shows, we thought we would finish the day with a quick order, but ended up walking out of there an hour later after selecting nearly the whole booth. They have brought back a few items based on their original cute little "kids" in honor of their 10th anniversary. If you've been scrapping for more than five years, you probably remember them. Once again, head on over to our Memories on Fifth facebook page to view photos from today and some of the awesome samples we found in the booths.
To make room for all of this, our sale for Thursday, July 30, 2009, will once again be 25% off of merchandise from all manufacturers highlighted above. |

CHA officially opened this morning and our first stop was at Bo Bunny. Along with a nice selection of their new themed offerings and new colors of double dot papers, we made the decision to add blue and red to the chipboard alphabets and albums that we currently carry. We then headed over to WeRMemoryKeepers. We added several new album colors and page protector choices along with selections of their new themed lines. We were impressed with some of their awesome tools, including a cool rotary cutter pack. They had lots of new Dollar Stamps as well. We picked up lots of fun papers and stickers from Moxxie and a cute little calendar kit. All of you Technique Tuesday fans will be excited to hear that after a short recess, we will be bringing back some of their quality stamps (Ali Edwards fans will love her stamps) and Technique Tiles into the store as well as two awesome class kits for September and October. The Robin's Nest has added Tear Drops to their popular Dew Drop embellishments and, as always dazzled us with their glitter papers. The new Tattered Angels Halloween Book Class will thrill our devoted Tattered Angels students. Watch for it in late September or October. I think it's the best one yet! Of course, we got all of their new Glimmer Mist colors along with all of the new chip tiles, and a sampling of their Bingo cards and stamps. Imaginisce, as always, had some of the cutest lines we saw. We loved the boy line so much, we ordered the entire line, and almost all of the others. We also ordered every single Dollar Stamp they offered. We passed by My Mind's Eye and agreed after seeing it in person that we had made a wise choice to preorder the entire booth (should be arriving at the store sometime next week!) We loaded up on new stacks and embellishments from another of our favorites, Diecuts with a View. We ended our day with a visit to Basic Grey, where we ordered all of the packs, almost all of the papers, and a good deal of the embellishments, bling and stamps. We uploaded over 100 pictures on Facebook showing products and samples. Be sure to check them out at www.facebook.com. Here are the sales for Wednesday, July 29, 2009:
